This past week has been busy in TRMS Media Center! We had media center orientations for 6th graders, media center orientation for teachers, and the first Strive for 25 benchmark. The 6th graders learned about check out policies and procedures and also how to set up a Destiny account to locate resources in our media center. During the Media Center Mingle teacher orientation teachers learned about how the media center can help them in the classroom and what resources and services we had to offer.
The students who read at least one book over the summer and had the Strive for 25 Tracking Sheet signed will receive a book mark as the reward for the first milestone in the Strive for 25. The book mark will be given out by their homeroom teacher this week. The next Strive for 25 benchmark is the September 28th. Each student needs to have at least 5 books read for this benchmark. For more information on Strive for 25 please see our form below, contact homeroom teachers, or contact media center staff. Tracking sheet 12-13.doc
The TRMS Media Center now has Free Little Libraries for both students and teachers. The teacher one is located in the copier room by the printers and the student one is located at the entrance to the media center. The idea behind them is to leave a book take a book (or two or three). The libraries will be up all year so please visit them frequently for additional books not in our media center collection.
The Taylor Road Media Center is very excited to start the 2012-2013 school year! Beginning Tuesday August 14th students may check out media center resources.
